Privacy Policy

What KWN collects

KWN only collects information you type in and send. KWN does not require you to create an account, and you can read every page of this site without giving KWN anything.

• Contact form — your name, email address, an optional phone number, the subject you choose, and the message you write.
• Sign-up for services form — the information requested on that form so KWN can understand your request and call you back.
• Basic website statistics — KWN's web host records standard technical information such as pages visited and general location. This is not tied to your name, and KWN does not use it to identify anyone.

Please send only what you're comfortable sharing. You do not need to include medical records or detailed health history to ask KWN for help — if more is needed, KWN will ask when calling you.

How KWN uses it

KWN uses what you send to respond to your message, to arrange the support you've asked for, and to follow up about that support. KWN may use totals that identify no one — such as how many people asked for help in a year — in grant applications and reports to the board.

KWN does not use your information for advertising, and will not add you to a mailing list without your agreement.

Who can see it

Access is limited to the board members, staff, and volunteers of Knowledge & Willpower Network who need it to respond to you or provide support.

Two outside services handle information on KWN's behalf, and each is bound by its own privacy terms:

• KWN's website host stores messages sent through the contact form and delivers them to KWN's inbox.
• Google Forms collects responses to KWN's sign-up form.

KWN may share information when the law requires it, or when it is necessary to protect someone's safety. Apart from those situations, KWN does not give your information to anyone outside the organization without your permission.

How long KWN keeps it

KWN keeps requests for support and related correspondence for as long as KWN is working with you, and afterward only as long as it is needed for KWN's records and for grant reporting. KWN deletes what is no longer needed.

Your choices

You can ask KWN at any time to tell you what information it holds about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email knowledgeandwillpower@yahoo.com or call 608-770-1480 and KWN will take care of it.

Deleting your information may mean KWN can no longer provide support you've asked for, and KWN may need to keep some records where the law requires it.

Children

This website is intended for adults. KWN does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent information, please contact KWN and it will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

If KWN changes this policy, the update will appear on this page and the date below will change. KWN encourages you to check back from time to time.
